Founded in Blue Ridge, GA, in 1943, Mercier Orchards has always been one of the top attractions in Georgia. Along with apples, the orchard grows blueberries, strawberries, peaches, and blackberries. They have the option of U-Pick, so you can choose from whatever they have available during your visit.

The Bakery & Market Cafe provides plenty of apple goods—cider, apple butter, fritters, and more—and the Farm Winery is the place where Georgia’s first hard apple cider was made. Don’t forget to stop by and check out the market, store, either.

Johnson’s Orchards is a family-owned business in Bedford, VA. They have around 200 different varieties of apples, with flowers and peaches available throughout the year. You can pick the apples yourselves or take some from that have already been pre-picked.

The winery is a good place to visit, and the store has all sorts of goods you can buy, from apple goods to other local items. Last but not least, feel free to grab some animal feed so you can feed the animals in their petting zoo.

R & A’s Orchard at Ellijay, Georgia, was founded in 1947. Their orchard consists of 60 acres of apple trees, along with peaches, strawberries, and nectarines. The Roadside Market is the perfect place to buy some peach salsa, apple cider, butter, and more.

If you have a sweet tooth, don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream and hand pies, too. Chicken and dumplings and other food are there for lunch, and large group tours are welcome.

This family-operated orchard in Cana, VA, has been working for around 72 years. With cherries, peaches, apples, nectarines and more, Ayers Orchard is a definite top visit.

The orchard lies in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, making for a beautiful place to hike along the trails. Picnicking is also welcomed at Ayers Orchard, so feel free to hang around for a bit and enjoy the scenery.

Jeter Mountain Farm Apple Orchard is in Hendersonville, NC. Its beautiful scenery allows for not only a farm, but a wedding venue as well. The farm has been in operation since 1813, with 441 acres of land for apples, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and much more. 

With 20 different varieties of apples, you can go during their U-Pick weekends to choose your favorites. A market is waiting for you to browse, as well as a hard cider tap room. If you like coffee, then the Orchard Coffee House is the place for you.

Red Apple Barn is located in Ellijay, GA, with apples, pumpkins, and flowers for you to pick. A beautiful creek is nearby for you to play or relax in, and there are fun wagon rides in the fall, too. 

Rock painting, scavenger hunts, and more games are available to keep you and your family entertained. Apple pies, fritters, cider, and other apple goods are ready to purchase, and you can even get a free cider with a donut, too.

Down in Bedford, VA, Gross’ Orchard is a family-operated orchard with both apples and peaches. You can go during their U-Pick hours and choose all your favorites. The orchard participates in special events and festivals throughout the year to make your visit worth the trip.

Wagon rides are also available Monday through Friday if you make an appointment. Their Country Store offers all sorts of goods, such as syrup, honey, jellies, cider, bacon, and more. 

Perry Lowe Orchard is in Moravian Falls, NC, with 100 acres of 30 different apple varieties. Peaches, nectarines, and pumpkins are also offered throughout the seasons, with a U-Pick service.

While you’re there, don’t forget to grab a glass of refreshing cider, or you can try one of their apple slushies. The Orchard has a little store with old fashioned candies to enjoy, as well as all sorts of produce to buy from: garlic, blueberries, cucumbers, squash, and more!

Ikenberry Orchards is located in Daleville, VA, with apples, peaches, and other local vegetables. The orchard offers ginger gold, winesap, gala, red delicious, and more, with plenty of varieties of peaches as well.

Their bakery is a great place to grab some cakes and pies, and other goods. Meats, cheeses, apple butter, candies, and more preserves are also sold at the farm, and there are pumpkins available during the fall.

In McCaysville, GA, Deep Roots Orchard is a quaint little place with wonderful hosts ready to give you a trip worth remembering. With all sorts of activities, such as picnics, bonfires, tours, tractor rides, and more, this orchard is a favorite of many. 

Their apples include rome, pink lady, gala, jonagold, and more. Food is provided by the orchard itself, along with sweet desserts for you and your family to try. Before you leave, don’t forget to stop by their store for some homemade goods, herbs, gifts, and more.

Barber's Orchard & Fruit Stand is located just outside of Waynesville NC.  They offer numerous varieties of apples, apple products, and local produce.  They are well known locally and nationally for their baked apple products, including apple cider donuts, fritters, pies, cookies and more!
